Lesley Leighton

A professional musican for more than two decades, Lesley Leighton is currently the Associate Conductor of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Artistic Director of Los Robles Master Chorale, and Music Director of the New West Symphony Chorus.

A native of Los Angeles, Leighton grew up listening to the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Los Angeles Philharmonic, becoming a member of the former in 1991. Following several years of singing as a principle artist in opera companies such as New York City Opera, Glyndebourne, Glimmerglass, Cologne Opera, Paris Opera and Los Angeles Music Center Opera, Leighton returned to her first love, choral music and the Los Angeles Master Chorale.

Between her three conducting positions, she prepares and conducts more than 100 scores a season, ranging from Monteverdi to Magnus Lindberg. Leighton also enjoys working with all levels of choirs as a clinician and adjudicator and is a frequent guest conductor, workshop adjudicator and choral clinician.
