Lesley Leighton is a choral conductor, arranger and singer in Los Angeles. A professional musician for more than two decades, Leighton is currently the Artistic Director of Los Robles Master Chorale, a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale and a full-time doctoral student in choral music at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.
Often a sought-after soprano soloist in the Southern Calfornia region, Leighton has also begun working as a choral clinician and festival adjudicator this past year. In addition to her full schedule of performances at USC and at Disney Hall with the LAMC, Leighton will conduct six concerts with the LRMC in the 2009|10 season and will also guest conduct the Mozart Requiem at the El Portal Theatre in the Spring.
A student of Morten Lauridsen’s in choral arranging, Leighton has begun composing choral pieces in addition to arranging them. There are plenty of audio examples on the site of her music, as well as some clips of her as a soloist. With more than 35 soundtracks to her credit, she is not a newcomer to the recording studio, and enjoys studio work in LA. Her most recent film work was on the summer blockbuster, X-Men: Wolverine, and the yet to be released, 2012.
